Hey there, welcome to my blog.

My name’s Irfan Hussain. I’m a humble guy. No really, I’m. Writing the about me page is the most difficult thing which I have written here.

I had a thing for art since… don’t remember. During my school days, I would hardly listen to teachers taking classes and would keep scribbling some doodles. As I grew the level of education was not getting any easier. I had to focus on exams, then college, from there on moved on to a job.

Long story short, I used to take photographs using my camera phone and soon realized the difference between my shots and the normal ones which others around me click. Slowly my fascination with it grew and I moved on to investing in a camera and shooting on my own.

It’s awesome. Where ever I go, I take my camera. It’s always with me in my back pack when I’m riding. I stop my bike, take my camera, and start walking. I love meeting people who I come across and the excitement that they show. Not all oblige when a random stranger pop up with a camera and asks for a picture. However, You will be surprised to see the number of people who interact well. Some ask me to share the prints. It’s difficult to full fill that request to all who ask, but I do take sometime out to revisit the locations and give them the prints as and when possible. The smiles that I get from them when I share the print is so rewarding. Trust me, it is.

People are like mirrors. Smile at them, and chances are that they might smile back at you. :D

What I love about HDR photography is, there’s so much to experiment with this technique. Each and every frame that you try HDR photography on is unique and has to be treated in processing in a unique way. Every HDR frame that I work on is a learning step for me in HDR. My technique for creating HDR images keeps evolving as I keep doing more and more of HDR.

I’m a sucker for black and white photos, but it doesn’t work for all shots. And I love doing portraits. If done correctly, portraits almost speak.

I love manipulating pictures and converting them to art work. I do this with my own images and also some stock images. Thanks to creative common artists across the web who let other artists like me to use their stock photographs and make art. There’s not limit to one’s creativity and imagination with digital art. I also use a lot of softwares and plugins on my street shots as well. I feel like a kid in an art class when I’m doing digital art. I love spending time in front of my pc, working long hours, with a cup of coffee, or a snack bowl to munch on and my lovely sennheiser headphones playing music. Good times.

I love making paintings out of my pictures and also using some stock images. It takes hours to do the paintings using various brush available in Photoshop and wacom tab. But the end result is all that matters.

People find me to be an odd guy, lost in my own world of thoughts and voices in my head. I think by now i must have put my parents to doubt me as their own offspring. Everyone else in my family is either a doctor or engineer or working for some multinational corporation abroad. I just do what i love to do. Just for the love part in it.

  1. Me again… Just wanted to say “thank you”. I appreciate your recent ‘follow’, knowing how many interesting and entertaining blogs there are out there.

Blogging since June 2013, my little corner of the world tries to offer an eclectic smattering of posts, from basic amateur photography, to sharing my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day-to-day happenings here on our fruit farm in southern Turkey. I also throw in a few of my observations on life and lighter-hearted stuff for good measure.

You are more than welcome to have a look around, stay a while and have a trawl through my collection. There are plenty of categories within the drop-down menus to help in said digging process. Of course, if you have any comments, suggestions or concerns, feel free to let me know – I’m not easily offended 🙂

Hope you have a great day, and thanks once again for trying to sort out my photo image this week…

    1. Glad to see your comment on this particular page, uncle spike. I never miss a chance of following blogs of people whom I feel are good based on the vibe I get from the content in their blog. Your’s was one of them so yeah, I naturally started following. 🙂

It’s hard to find time to go through other blogs because I’m already having a hard time trying to manage my own blog while balancing my day job and family. That’s why I follow blogs like yours to at least keep up with the latest happenings.

I am an amateur too. 90% of what you see here was done on a point and shoot Nikon L120. Only two weeks ago I bought my Nikon D3300 DSLR and started shooting with it. I share stuff here as I learn. So yeah, you too feel free to go through my posts, learnings, tutorials, images as and when you find time. Hope you find them useful.

And thanks for the opportunity. Though it wasn’t a success I really appreciate you sharing your image with me.

      1. Oh shit, sorry I just realized you were asking about the HDR shot. That’s in malaysia, Asia jaya metro. I was just reviewing my comments and noticed the mistake only now.

  2. Hi there,
I am a huge fan of work, especially the black and white portraiture. Where would you stand on me drawing copies of you photography for possible commercial use. You would be fully credited for the original photo. And hopefully will be seen in some of the biggest and most popular hotels around the world, and eventually art galleries.

Would be great to here back from you via email.

Thanks again for the great inspiration

    1. Hi Ryan,
I am curious about the procedure which you will be following. Will it be drawings made from scratch (hand-drawn or digitally hand-drawn) or will you be converting the pictures to look like drawings using post processing?
